Traffic for the Cross Country should enter the Stormont Estate via the Newtownards Road entrance to the Pavilion car park. This will give access to the additional parking spaces at Castle Buildings car park. When exiting the Estate all traffic is advised to drive up the hill past Parliament Buildings and leave via the Massey Avenue gate. This will be easier than trying to exit via Newtownards Road as it is often very congested. See map for details.
Portaloos will be located on the Prince of Wales Avenue close to the start line. More toilets are located about 600m from the start on the Prince of Wales Avenue. See course map for details.
Men’s and Women’s Team Competitions
There will be Team prizes in the men’s and women’s races. Male Vets 60+ can compete in the Women’s race however please note that men running in this race will not be eligible for the team prizes.
Boys and Girls Team Competition across the Junior categories.
A competition where the first three runners across ALL of the Junior categories from a particular school, club or organisation can win a team prize. There will be individual trophies for boys and girls teams.
Team Competition Entry and Rules
The first three finishers from each team count with the winners being the team with the lowest combined score in their race category (based on finishing position). In the event of a tie on points for 1st place the winner will be decided based on the finishing position of the 3rd placed team member.
Juniors simply enter as normal indicating the school/organisation/club they wish to represent. The first three finishers will count and their combined placings will determine the winning team i.e. the team with the lowest score.
NICSAC Internal Championships
The NICS Athletics Club internal cross country championship will take place within the Male and Female Open/Vets races and there will be separate prizes for NICSAC members taking part in the races. Prizes awarded at NICSAC Awards dinner later in the year.
As always, we look forward to seeing you all on the day.
